The Animals Speak: A Christmas Eve Legend Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Yvonne Pearson -- A Beautiful New Take on the Christmas Story : THE ANIMALS SPEAK by Marion Dane Bauer is a lovely and unique take on the classic Christmas story. It tells in gentle, lyrical language the legend of animals being given the power of speech to praise the Christ child on his birth. Though it is apparently an old story, it is new to this reader, and, I suspect, to many others. Crafted in Ms. Bauer’s characteristically beautiful prose, the book transports us into the long-ago time of the Christmas story and brings us back to the present, the “now,” with a deeper consciousness of our relationship to all living beings. A stellar book to add to your child’s Christmas library. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2021 )
