:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Scott B. AllanTop Contributor: Writing -- Inspiration, Courage, Optimism and Emotional Support When You're Struggling! : Have you found yourself asking "how do I live a meaningful life with my condition?" How can I manage my emotions and mental health with a chronic illness? Will I be able to be as active as my family and friends? ( Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from C. L. Piper -- A positive attitude is everything and can break barriers! : The author is a young woman with a congenital heart defect. But instead of asking “why me?”, she challenged all the ways the doctors tried to limit her. She also remained positive regardless of her circumstances. The author attributes a lot of her success to her parents and her faith. It shows what a positive impact parents can make on a child’s life. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Faith Rose, Author of "Let Your Destiny Find You - A Spiritual Journey Beyond Imagination" -- WISE YOUNG WOMAN WITH AN AMAZING GIFT : Tori has written an amazing story with so much wisdom. She is an old soul in a young body and is worth listening to. Her story of courage and triumph is everyone's story of how to get the most out of the Life God gives you, it's not just for those with chronic illness. I'm filled with Gratitude to read her story, see her wise perspectives and how she has shaped a challenging Life to become stronger, more compassionate and see the Gift in it all. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Naylee Almquist -- Inspirational, raw, and genuine! : Tori's story is quite exceptional and inspiring. From page one, her drive and compassion for others leap from the words, ready to enter the hearts of willing readers. For anyone struggling with a chronic illness, this book is a great read to challenge the cards that life has dealt and get a new perspective. As the title of the book says, she wants to help you go from, "Vulnerable to Victorious". Even for those without a chronic illness, Tori's story, guidance, and wise words are truly, incredibly inspiring for anyone! Reading this book was a joy and I felt like through her vulnerability, the author was able to welcome readers in with a warm embrace and encourage them to overcome challenges they may be facing. However, unlike some other self-help books, Tori does not make the claim that it will be easy when we decide we want it to be. In fact, she specifically discourages the "toxic positivity" mindset, that many self-help books unintentionally (or intentionally) promote. This was refreshing to read and made Tori's story more relatable and again, encouraging. I am so excited after having read this book to incorporate some of the ideas suggested in my own life. Tori truly has a, "heart that beats for others" (the phrase that her lifestyle blog is based on), and a heart that wants to shine for her faith and convictions. It is this that makes, "From Vulnerable to Victorious" such a powerful and endearing read. Would recommend to everyone! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jeffrey John Frisone -- Self-help for the people with illness : Like a lot of self-help books, there is an emphasis on a positive thinking and mindset. The author actually uses real life experiences from her own life though, to make the examples make sense instead of doing by the numbers talking points of self-help affirmations that every other self-help writer does. Her end notes were also very well done and I personally appreciate the research that was done for this book. The author shared her story and it shows some real lessons we can learn about overcoming difficult things such as health issues in our life or the lives of people we love. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from DC -- Inspiring and uplifting : This book is truly inspiring. The author describes her experiences with a chronic condition, the highs and the lows and the importance of listening to your body; of having people who support and believe in your potential around you. But most importantly, she shows how you don’t have to be defined and limited by your illness. She demonstrates by example how you can grow through challenge, how you can shape your life, how it is possible to lead a full life. Her faith shines through. Whether you are living with a chronic illness or not, if you struggle with your circumstances, this uplifting book has much to offer. Even if you are totally happy with your life, this is an uplifting story. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 14, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- Vulnerable to Victorious Lives Up to Its Title : This heartfelt book is refreshingly relatable that you feel you are getting to know the author as you read along. Her vulnerable storytelling is inspiring especially the irony of expectations of athletes and how she overcame that not in 1 sport, but 3! I can’t say I can relate to her chronic illness but I could feel her anguish overcoming her challenges. I would imagine this to be wonderful for chronically ill people reading this book. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Terri Dentry -- Clear steps to follow to help anyone become better at living the life they choose : This book is written as a coaching support tool for young people living with a chronic illness but could be read by almost anyone who is facing challenges in their life. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Michael Lachance -- So inspiring : The authors perspective on life and overcoming hardship is amazing. I felt inspired reading about her story! Highly recommend. ( Reviewed in Canada on October 28, 2021 )
